Hi all,

jst wondering if anyone could help me out here. Im refretting a accoustic with a bound fretboard. I am replacing the frets with jumbos and was wondering how I would go about deepening the fret slots?

Am I going to have to replace the binding?

Sorry i know this post is old, but I jst have one question that mabye someone could help me wth....How does the middle wheel (the one that you turn with the crank) grip the tang of the fret to pull it through?

yep ....thats it...

depending on how much fret you have to work with, a refret may be in order..(might I suggest some fat frets) I refret every guitar I buy new or not with fat frets...they feel beautiful

First of all, why do you frets need leveling????If strings are buzzing, it quite possible your trustrod may need adjusting......but anyways...

first of all you have to level the frets (a bastard file works fine for me)...blacking the frets first with a marker is a good idea and will help to determine when all of the low spots have been remedied...

Second, you will end up with flat spots on your frets which means you need a special crowning file (can be found at www.stewmac.com ) which is used to file the tops of every fret to give them the natural crown again..

Thirdly, Dressing is simply using a small file to file the ends of the frets lightly to remove any sharp edge..(this shouldnt be very necassary if you are only lightly leveling and existing fretjob)

Hi, Im about to re-radius my classical guitar fretboard....at the moment its dead flat (as classical guitars commonly are)....I giving the fretboard a 12 degree radius....I know that ill have to cut a new nut, but will it be necessary to have a new saddle to match the radius of the fretboard?

Any help or ideas would be much appreciated..
