Awesome, something new and truely innovative. Cheers man.
avengers63--I have made violin clamps almost exactly like you outlined, I used non-slip pads (made for furniture legs, can get them from any hardware store) on the contact surfaces of mine with good results

Very cool build, love the overall theme, and very horny body and headstock. What's the Saturn fretboard inlay made of??

Very cool wes, those fret markers are badass. Can't wait to see it finished! One of these days I'll attempt my first neck build, until then "buy and set" is my way to go.

Will commence with resizing efforts ASAP, sorry

With the exception of one (the first one I built) they play and sound incredible. Realizing that I'm going for a very specific demographic (metalheads, members of GWAR, etc.) and the fact that the bunch here seem to be VERY traditional in their tastes, I wasn't expecting much in the way of positive reactions. Thanks for your opinion, I'll start hitting up the craft fairs in the area and maybe generate more interest.

Hey guys, been visiting your site for a while now, and finally decided to join the ranks. Would love it if some of you could give feedback on the rigs I've built so far. Be brutal, be honest....hell, be BRUTALLY HONEST. Let me know what ya'll think, I'm constantly looking for feedback from musicians and fellow luthiers, so I know this is the right place.

My opinion, CARVE THE DRAGON, keep it very shallow, like the checkering on a gunstock. Then clearcoat. This way you preserve the natural beauty of the Mahogany but still add something unforgettable into the mix. Otherwise it's just another very well done example of a V clone. Not that there's anything wrong with that...
