Maybe that's part of the graphic and it just looks raised. If it is raised and if he puts enough clear on it, it will disappear.
I think that's the blue 2 that was on the decal but disappeared next to the black?

Awesome.
Am I dumb or just stupid? How does he hold that sucker in place? Using traditional posture but with the 'extensions' wrapped around his neck?

I was wondering the exact same thing. I play violin and I can't imagine it'd be comfortable to play those... LGM, any pictures of Mark Wood playing one?

I'm planning to buy a strat copy and switch out the pickguard, but I'm worried the pickguard wont match up perfectly.
In the case that it doesnt, how would I work with this? I realize some drilling may be required... but how can I do this in a way that won't mess up the finish of my guitar and will still allow me to put the other pickguard back on if need be?
Any input is appreciated.

Care to elaborate? I'm curious as to why Ed Roman is so resented, as well.

Thanks for the advice. I think I may just order a premade pickguard online.
BTW, gsrguitars, your site is really cool and I will definitely bookmark it.

I'm a complete novice at modding guitars, and wanted to start by changing up my pickguard. The guitar is metallic red and the pickguard is white. I want to paint something on the pickguard (with enough red that it matches), and I was wondering how I would do this. Would I just paint and laquer, or is there more to it?
Any detailed instructions would help, as well as any suggestions to what I should paint on the pickguard.
Thanks for any input.

Painting A Semi-hollow Pickguard
in Inlays and Finishing Chat
Posted
I plan on getting a semi hollow soon, but I want to paint the black pickguard white because it would be too hard to find a white replacement for it. I was planning to:
1. Remove pickguard from body
2. Remove all screws
3. Sand pickguard (What grit?)
4. Use spray paint to paint (What type of paint?)
5. How many coats?
6. Spray a clear coat over it (What type of clear coat?)
7. Reattach pickguard
Am I making any mistakes, or is there a better way to do this?
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,
Alex
