  1. Hey BeAR Welcome! I too am doing an RG570 project but, as the name says, to a psudo JPM. I filled the center cavity so it is now just a two humbucker guitar. Check what the pickup cavities look like, because mine looked ugly as h@## (IMHO) without the bezels. Good luck, this is a great place to get ALL the info you need. Brad :D

  2. Well there's good news and bad news. The pick up holes are really funky looking. They don't have just the little ears on the sides like my 7620 if you know what I'm describing but look more like a big ugly hole. So i have decided to direct mount with a block inside the cavity but still put on the bezel's. I hope it looks ok. The good news is I am about 85% stripped on the body so it won't be long. I'm taking pics as I go so I will be sure to post. Brad

  3. As Brian was saying about Kinko's the guy here in Elkhart Indiana said that it was copywright infringement and he couldn't help me. I know embroidery shops buy a book with thousands of logo's and that is how they are able to transfer college logos and what not onto hats and shirts. I just didn't want the Notre Dame Irishman on my headstock! :D

  4. First the plan is to put a deep stain in the grain so that the darker woods are going to stand out more (refer to 3D staining in the tutorial) then go with hunter green or a medium blue, and just let it tint the wood. My idea for the Picasso graffic is still in my head yet, but I'm thinking transparent plastic cut to shape and then laid over the stain. I am wondering if I stain it blue and use yellow plastic, will it make the Picasso's look green? B) It should shouldn't it? I'm still nervous as hell about putting on the laminate. :D Wish me luck! Brad

P.S. I'll post pics of the process asap. I just started stripping the body tonight! :D

  5. I have a Black RG7620 and I want to put a maple top on it, but I don't want to strip the sides and back of the guitar, jjust the top. Is that doable? I bought enough laminate to do two guitars, I am experimenting on an RG570 and would like to do my 7 string as well (yea, I stole the idea from the Rob Balducci web site :D ) Thanks for the input. Brad

  6. Just wanted to intoduce myself and say HI! I am currently changing an RG570 to a JPM switching setup and putting a Flame Maple laminate on top (thanks Brian), and scalloping the last four frets. It's a newer model so my wife is ready to shoot me! I may require some support from yall. This site has been GREAT! Looking forward to making some changes in my gear. Thanks for the great info. Brad
