As I'm on topic, what about a band pass filter? Wouldn't it be nice to get some wah-like sounds? Or a twin-T filter... though that should be active circuit yet.

Yea, that dampens the tone a bit, am I right? 'Cause neck is something like a bow, so if it's not solid enough, it's got just too quick vibration, while the body's still a stiff, solid thing there. I just tried to think it over...

Yep, but the easiest way if you wouldn't use any pickups, thus you don't have to hook anything to the output.

Yep, 1 humbucker at the bridge is a fine thing, but I'd still use one single volume pot.

Wound 3rd's are okay, and on a 24 3/4" scale they've got a bit less tension so you can bend 'em quite well.

Yea, Wes totally right, if you're at high gains, you can't get clearly focused notes from the neck position, there's too much vibration of the strings for that, too large amplitude.

Well I've found another full maple from that Hungarian luthier, it's a picture of that:

what about compensating with a rediculusly sick set of heavy bass emphasized pickups? u could also rig up some kind of capacitor that was on all the time to keep the treb and mids under control?

Yep, that's possible, but that way you won't be able to get those twangy single-coil sounds. But would be an original sound indeed. There's a guitarist Tátrai Tibor who's famous here in Hungary, he's got a custom made full maple strat, with three Casio pickups (LOL). Picture below. Well, that's got something sparkling sound and I can't say that's anything bad.

The problem is the body, if it's full maple, without sound chambers, you're gonna get a huge emphasis in the mid trebles and trebles that's undesirable. That means you're gonna get those trebles distorted even at a very clean setting, and due to those highly emphasized range at the highs, you'll lack bass. (unbalanced treble - bass ratio, which can't be handled by the amplifier). Listen Rickenbackers - they're made of maple BUT with sound chambers (thinline or hollowbodies), and they still sound bright enough to get that famous jingle-jangle sound. This is my 2 cents.
