  1. thanks for the advice everyone..i think i'll save up a bit more for the bandsaw..

as you all said getting better quality tools is better in the long run..ill have to go second hand most probably...good thing for ebay!

i want to try and get the bigger tools out the way first..

  2. the router looks fine..i actually have several ranging from a 3hp makita to a $40 black and decker and each has it's uses.

i would definitely recommend against getting a bench top band saw for guitar building unless that's absolutely all you can afford. they don't have the blade guiding properties of bigger, more expensive saws and they definitely don't have the power that you need for larger projects. i have two in my storeroom that i've retired for just those reasons. i don't know what the used tool market is where you live but look around a little and you may find a descent saw used for the same price.

    good luck!

what kind of saw would you reccomend??

  3. well my amp has a speaker out socket at teh back, i plugged one into that and it worked but my amp speaker went off. so i can damage my amp you say , well i think i wont be doing that then..

ass for the wattage ill have to check.

i just want liek the 2 speakers around my room but my amp speaker to be on at teh same time

  4. i just found 2 oldish speakers in my dads loft, there medium sized not to big though, they both work but i was wonderign what i could do with them.

i was thinking maybe something to do with my amp (Vox AD50VT) liek have soem sort of surround sound.

    ANY IDEAS????????????????

  5. ive just finished modding my cry baby after 3 hours of burns and screams im finished. very very very happy with results.

i changed a few transistors and various components to get a more vocal sound and smoother sweep. also got rid of those ear splitting highs of the stock wahs. And converted to a true bypass.

anyway i was wondering if anybody knew any sites that have a guide or somehtign that tells you how to do the Dual Fasel mod were you switch between various inductors. AND how would you go about painting teh outside of your wah pedal eg. what paint to use ect... thanks..

  6. right hello everyone im new here so hello. Any way this is my first major body work. my plan is to "age" my strat replica body and fit it with a new neck. ive already got the neck it is a squire strat with a jaguar decal for some reason. I want it to basicly resemble rory's strat but mine is just plain red so it wont look half as good. im building a real strat around christmas time so this will be my practise.

ive got pics of the body and neck but cant quite figure out how to get pictures up at the moment so ill have a read around.

pictures will be added every few hours or so

  7. hey im brand new here so hello. im relecing a neck ive just bought as well. having trouble getting much info on how to though. my advice is get lots of pics, lots and lots. my neck is a squire strat neck with strat decal so looks liek the real thing. rosewood fretboard so a bit of sanding gives that worn look. how is urs going?
