I'd like to know the answer to this too.

The gaps between the frets would be too small to use unless you had a massive scale length (or tiny fingers).

I believe there is an old Allan Holdsworth signature model (not his current Carvin one) that had 27 or 28 frets, but their usefulness is questionable.

Looks good, would be tricky though.

Try Tcut car polish, that has worked for me on poly-urethane before. It's readily available in the UK too.

About 30-35 quid for a mahogany body blank.

Would either of these two be ok for cutting inlays (assuming you can get a dremel that fits).

How do stacked humbuckers work? I know some strat replacements are stacked humbuckers. Is it just like a folding humbucker in half or is there something more complicated going on? Assuming it is two coils on top of each other is the bottom coil just for hum cancelling or does it add to the sound of the pickup as well?

Has anybody ever used them? Do they have a single coil or a humbucker sound? Or perhaps a mixture?

I've used pine to make practice necks and bodies I think it might be too soft for a finished guitar.

There is a page on the ibanez site that tells you how to decode their serial numbers. I know that one of my guitars was built in '81 based on this. Can't find the link though...

Wood doesn't mess with magnetic fields like metal does but the thicker the wood is the further the magnets will be from the strings so the quieter the pickup will be.

I've always found scooped mids sound great at home at low volumes but when playing with a band at high volume the guitar seems to "disappear" under the other instruments. I think it's because the bass takes the lows and the hihat the highs leaving the mids for guitar. I recently read that Kerry King of Slayer actually boosts his mids to give a more powerful sound.

At what point do you finish the neck? Before or after the fretboard has been attached? Does it make any difference?

That's a good price for the 7 string but I reckon it might be hard to sell your Epiphone for a decent ammount.

It is cheap but I bet the cans are really small when you see them in the flesh. I'm in the UK and I often use Plasticoat paints. They're pretty cheap and work well. Loads of places sell them too - B&Q, Homebase, Wilkos, etc.

If you are doing a chambered body do the cuts have to be in a specific place or just where ever there is room?

The holes seem to be in quite unusual places on this warmoth body, is that to give a good sound or to just where there was space left to cut?

My gig advice would be bring at least 2 of everything (if you can). 2 guitars, 2 amps, 2 speakers leads, 2 foot pedals, etc. This has always helped me in those terrible moments when your amp doesn't switch on 10 minutes before you start.
