  1. Hi there guys!

I bring this topic back to life after 5 years! :D

I haven't done much things the last years except moving home and setting up my new business! Any way here we go with that 7 string guitar that i always wanted!

    Here are the specs:

    Body:

Honduras Mahogany with bookmatched Quilted maple top (15mm).

I payed a lot for these!

    Neck:

Birdseye maple and Macassar Ebony fretboard!

It is a bolt on. I have bought an Edge Pro 7 for that guitar! 2 humbuckers probably dimarzio as i like a lot the Petrucci sound!

    So here are some pics!

  2. Hi there,

the best you can do is to build an active circuit using the ldr as a "controller".Active circuit means that it needs a 9 volt battery.Do you have space for a 9 volt battery in the guitar?Answer me and i can give answers and even a circuit for the job.But have in mind that you have to move your hand pretty close to the ldr in order to affect the light which goes the LDR.I think that the best thing that would the job would be somekind of a "proximity" sensor which is used by some synths to control some parameters.

  3. Yes I believe that you are right. But what happens when a customer have bought a guitar or some other instrument and needs some parts because lets say someone screwed up the instrument or the nut or a part of the instrument and needs a replacement?????He has to wait that long in order to repair his instrument????What if he is a professional musician and needs his instrument??????

  4. I order through my local Ibanez distrubutor a 7 string edge pro bridge

What did that set you back, if I may ask???

    Hi there guys,

Have a nice year everyone!Sorry for being away sooooooooo long but i am really busy with my day job.I had no time left at all to complete my guitar project. So here i am back again.RGGR sorry man but i don't understand your question. You mean why i waited 4 months to get the trem?If that is what you mean then i have to say that the Ibanez distributor is a total geek. Why i say that?First of all he ordered the parts after 2 months and the part numbers he gave to ibanez were wrong. You see i wanted a powder cosmo unit and he brought me a cosmo black tremolo and a powder cosmo lock nut. So??What do you think? It is not the first time that it happens but i couldn't wait another 4 or more months to get the right parts.

  5. Firstly i was waiting about 6 months for the nut to come in Greece and second the dealer here in greece was in a mood like, do you want it or not??I you want another one you will have to wait aboiut 4 months.September is the next delivery date.So i took it in order to do build the neck.Lgm maybe you are right but go and check At Ibanez parts catalog for the 2TL1X48K number. It is a nut in cosmo black.

  6. Hi there,

I order a few months ago at the greek ibanez dealer some parts and i got them a few days ago.I received a 7 string top lock nut set which is the wrong color from the one i ordered. Is anyone willing to exchange it with another one of the correct color???The part's number is 2TL1X48PC and i want 2TL1X48K.The one i ve got is powder cosmo and the one i want is cosmo black. Is anyone willing to exchange??It is brand new in the 3 plastic bags!Mail me for other info.

    Padelis

  7. HI there again,

After 4 months of waiting i finally got the tremolo in my hands. It s great and not really heavy compared to a few others. And as i said before it can be converted to piezo pretty easy.I knew that Ibanez wouldn't design two tremolos, it costs too much and there is no reason to do so.They designed one tremolo and they add the elements in the saddles and the edge pro becomes a double edge pro.So i will have to do a little search to find the right piezo elements that can fit in the saddle. Here are the pics!!!!

  8. Thanx guys,

I ve seen Lgm guitars before but didn't have that in my mind.My design is based on some guitars at ed romans site.I ve added an AANJ and used a little my fantasy.RGGR you are right the lower horn is a little small but this is how i like it.Thanx anyway for your $0.02.Now for the specs:

Mahogany with maple archtop(any good supplier?)

    maple neck with rosewood fretboard

    Ibanez edgepro7

a pair of dimarzio pickups(which would you prefer?)

haven't thought of the colour yet.

    Thats all folks!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. thank you guys for your replies.I really have played all of the ibanez tremolos and i think that all are great.so i bought the latest edgepro because of its design. Can't wait to take it in my hands to examine it a little better, i think that i can convert it to a piezo one.Just waiting.Marry christmas and happy new year to everyone.Soon i will post pictures of the progress!!!!!!!!!

  10. Hi there guys,

The problem is that i will have to wait about 2-3 months to get it.Well i cant wait so long to route the tremolo. So, could anyone supply me with some dimensions????What do you think about the tremolo i bought???Is it better than the old one?????
