hey guys I am doing a custom relic job on a strat it has a nitro finish and is 60's style sunburst the dude wants it to loo as beat up as the srv or rory galagher custom shop so my question is on both guitars there are large areas of dicolorotion on bare wood does anyone know how I can recreate this or if you have any other information on relicing it would be much apreciated.

hey guys I am finishing a tele butterscotch and I am on my 7th coat of laquer and I keep having sand throughs on the edges all the way to bare wood and I don't know what to do I keep having to take a paintbrush and try to fix it and its not working that great and it really wories me to try and do final sanding and polishing what should I do.

I ve heard of drop filling, burning sticks,or several other ways ,it will certainly help people around here to know what type of wood you are finishing,i am a newbie myself but in the past i have filled these kind of things with a bit of clear lacquer using a q tip,it worked for me.Good luck with that anyways. It is a ash tele but I am gonna try that q tip thing that might do the trick thanks man.

ok everybody I am needing some help I have ben working on finishing a body right now I am on my 7th coat of clear and there are a few spots where there are little ridges where I gues the grain didn't get filled all the way does anyone know how i can fill them in.

I am needin a telecaster headstock decal and I am under a bit of a time crunch I don't have time to just sit and watch ebay I found a place to get them in England but I would prefer a place in the us does anyone know of one.

You know, if you volunteered more information on what you're trying to do, you'll likely get some help. Right now, it looks like you're expecting us to tease all of this info out of you. A picture or two would go a long way. I would but I don't have a digital camera it is just a plain les paul mahogany body with a maple top the neck pocket is squre gibson uses a couple different designs theres square one with a rounded end and one with a pyrimid shape at the end.

On a Gibson guitar? yah it's one I got in a trade I thought It could be fixed but the trusrods broken and the two pieces of the neck don't meet up flush.

Ok guys I am building a guitar with a set neck like a gibson but to set it up like one it requires a angled neck pocket does anyone no how to rout one.

I have seen a couple of guitars where the finish looks like a mirror or a broken mirror I heard that it is mylar but what kind and where I can get it how do you apply it and how would you create the broken mirror effect.

I got it from reranch I think the brand is bartleys and the color is natural.

Hey guys I am on my first attempt to finish a guitar it's a all parts tele I am doing in butterscotch blonde so far I have sanded most of the grain filler off but in some it's really har to sand I've taken off as much as I can and I was wondering if there's a little left on the surface will it hurt the finish.

I am trying to make a gibson les paul with a set maple neck and I tried warmoth and they will not make the heel and neck pocket suitable for a set neck where do I get the parts or is there away to make warmoths work.
