Hi all, I'm new to wiring and will be wiring an SSS Strat. I have a few questions.

1. Does anyone have any good tutorials

2. do I need to buy any other wires other than those that come out of the pickups? If so, What kind and gauge.

3. I'm using copper tape for the inside cavities. Are there any extra steps to this? I understand that it has to be grounded.

I'd use chair doctor glue.

Prefer it over other hobby CA?

Definitely. Whenever I have a hairline crack, that's what I use. Definitely more durable joint than CA and much, much easier to clean up.

It doesn't look like it goes very deep from the pic. In fact, I can't see that it goes deeper than the paint. I should think you'd be fine just wicking in some water thin CA.

It's not too deep, but its enough for the upper part of the wood to wiggle a little bit... So I would like to secure it just to be sure. This said, you're right. It doesn't go down very deep into the core of the wood.

So you still think I'd be okay with thin CA?

So after further inspection. I noticed that what I thought was a surface scratch, is actually a small, very thin, crack. As you can see in the photo's, its between the bridge pickup cavity and the upper tremolo stud.

How should I go about repairing this? Do you think I'll be okay with just some strong insta-glue? after glueing, I plan on putting epoxy on in the pickup cavity to fix someone's hack job of a routing.

The ferrule that goes in the body is loose? I fix that with epoxy.

Fill the hole with epoxy and push in the ferrule, clean off the remaining epoxy?

Nice mill work. I would probably just use some bondo to fill it. Others may suggest some kind of purposed wood filler either way after its filled painted and the pickgaurd is on nobody will ever know

Bondo.. This might be a goofy question, but should I use the bondo used on cars, or Bondo Wood Filler?

Hello everyone. I recently purchased a Custom Shop Strat body and found that a pivot insert is loose and I'm afraid it'll cause some tuning problems. Has this occurred with anyone? I'd appreciate any help on fixing this problem!

Hi everyone. New here, though I've been lurking around for awhile now! Great site.

So long story short- I was at my local guitar shop the other day and I came across a fender custom shop body that someone "routed" to fit a hum bucker as it seems... by routed I mean chiseled. The price was so low for a custom shop body, I couldn't pass it up and I thought it'd make a great project.

Today, I put it on a Bridgeport and rerouted the cavity to have a nice edge. After doing so there are still some chisel marks that i want to fill on the inside wall (closest to the bridge) before applying conductive coating.

My question is- What is the best way to fill this? The deepest the hole goes is roughly 0.100"
