Hi guys,
Things are coming together nicely on the bass, most of the hand sanding is done.Drilled out for the bridge and thru body stringing. The straplocks have been fitted also,
About some of the questions asked by you guys, well weight wise this bass is a nice weight due to the lightness of the redwood top.Im guessing its gonna be around 7-8 lbs,for sure purpleheart and bubuinga are heavy woods but I just love the dark looking and sounding woods.
About the singlecut method of build,
Basicly I get the neck to the stage where everthing is done board etc, then I glue it to the wings. Then I ruff out the neck up to where it joins the top horn. From there I then set the whole bass up on my mill and ruff out for the high access, then I blend it all in using files, scapers and my DA sander. It take a while but its all worth it in the end!
