Thanks (to everyone), it helps a lot. It's just that Ii don't want to choose a colour that will look good with only one or two of the woods. If anyone has good pics of guitars with these woods that would be really great. My laminates are (left to right) mahogany (V-wing), 10mm wenge, 30mm maple, 20mm wenge (centre), 30mm maple, etc. The fingerboard is ebony (relatively light coloured) and the headstock has a brazillian rosewood veneer. Ideas welcome. And thanks again.

I'm building a through-neck, curved Flying-V but I can't seem to find samples of transparent paint on different woods, (particularly maple, mahogany and wenge in my case) and I want to have a clear idea of how the colour will turn out before spending money. If anyone can point to a site or anything, I'd appreciate it very much.

I'm building an electric 6-string, similar to a flying v, with a double locking bridge and two triple-coil pick-ups. however, in my calculations I found that i probably won't have enough space between the end of the fretboard and the bridge for the pickups. To solve this, either I could extend the scale-length (from25.5" to 26.5) or move the pickup up and have 2 or 4 less frets (from 24). for the latter i would also have to alter the shape to fit around the pickup. any help would be very much appreciated. thanks

It's for a final school project, i dunno if waldorf rings a bell, but I really just want a guitar looks good that i can say I made (with some help). Red burst is sound like a good idea, but I'm still thinking just transparent black, which could look cool with my black hardware.
