  1. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh now i see. thanks for that. another question tho - i will already have a stereo jack as i have a piezo bridge - so will i just take the piezo straight to the jack and ignore the effect circuit?

and while im being a bit of a pain - how do i go about wiring a piezo/magnetic/both switch? and would this have to come before or after the effect? ie: guitar output - piezo/mag/both - effect - output or guitar output - effect - piezo/mag/both?

  2. well im going to put two on top and have the other three on the inside of the lower horn (flying v) if you see what i mean.

the main queary i have is what to do with the input/outputs. would the output of the guitar go to the input of the effect and the output of the effect to the jack, or would everything have to go through the effects on/off switch?

  3. damn you psw for being so damn smart and building this thing! if i knew what the hell you gyus were talking about half the time and if i had any idea how id definately make one. i havent read all 79 pages, iv skipped and jumped through bits of it, but from what i have read of it, i think people would be climbing over their dead grandmother to get hold of one!

leds or no leds, internal or external controls, either way, any combination, people will want it. it will make for a very versatile instrument that could encourage new playing styles and more originality - and god knows thats jus what the music scene needs.

if/when you do bring it out commercialy, i think you should let everyone whos contributed to this forum have one at cost price :D hehe

seriously though, what a fantastic amazing thing you've done

  4. ok, so im going to build a preamp/buffer for my piezo as described in the mintbox thread (im assuming this is a preamp/buffer and not just a buffer. if not how do i make a preamp!?). what i need help with is how to go about wiring the rest of the guitar to suit. i know the piezo must got to the preamp first before any switches, but other than that im pretty clueless. if anyone could help me with a wiring diagram for the following that would be great.

i want to have my 2 humbuckers going to a 3 way toggle switch, a kill switch (on/off/on), a coil tap each(voicing outer coils) with a volume pot (250 or 500? or what?) each and a master tone. then the piezo - preamp -with an on/off switch, a switch selecting piezo/magnetic/both and volume (25k?) all going to a stereo jack socket.

does this all seem ok? any suggestions on better configurations is good too. if you cant put a wiring diagram onto here then email me with it at anthonyfrudd@hotmail.com.

please someone help a poor little lost boy

  5. hmmm, i'll have to ponder. if i got hold of a preamp circuit board (which i very well may be able to), how would i wire that into my existing circuit? it's probably going to be a circuit board from a preamp pedal.

i'll explain whats in the guitar in case its relevant. aside from the piezo - on/off - volume - master tone, there are 2 humbuckers, each with their own on/off switch, phase reverse, series/parallel, hb/single coil, coil selection. each has an individual volume and they go to the master tone.

now you see why theres not so much room. i may simplify it one day but its not as complicated to use as it sounds.

  6. when i bought a tunamatic bridge for a guitar i was building, i was mistakenly sold a piezo bridge (schaller gtm-p) rather than a normal one (which is a bonus and saved me a lot of money) but the trouble was i didnt know what to do with it. so i just took the small jack socket off and wired it to an on/off switch, volume pot and the master tone. it works fine as a third pickup and gives a kind of thin tele sound.

but now i want the acoustic emulation. what i was wondering was is there any way to get this without a preamp? or am i just being stupid? the only thing is, if i was to have a preamp i would prefer it to be internal, but theres not much room left in the guitar for this unless i go over to the bass side (which is not very practical as its a flying v). theres just about enough room for a battery, but thats about it. which is why i was wondering if i could do without a preamp and just add a battery somewhere in the circuit.

any help will be gratefully appreciated
