Nice interpretation of the original. As for the top controversy, I have a vintage Saturn 63. Before I got it, I read that they had solid tops, but mine turned out to be 3 ply laminate. Recently, a German contact informed me me that initially they were carved, but it was impossible to profitably keep up with the demand, so laminated tops were substituted. I don't know if that's true, but there is a model called the Saturn DeLuxe, which has gold hardware and a solid carved top. Instead of the control plate, there are 4 pots and a toggle mounted directly. I just bought one online and await delivery; they're extremely rare and I've had a hard time finding info. Looking forward to getting it in hand soon.
