Just when you thought Eddie couldn't spam himself out to another guitar company (LOL), I got news from a VERY reliable source that Mr. Van Halen has finished his relationship with Peavey and is now offically on board with Charvel (Fender).
From what I understand, the deal was just signed TODAY!
In my opinion, it makes sense His original guitar body was a Charvel...Fender owns Floyd Rose...Fender and Seymour Duncan have an agreement...and they CERTAINLY can keep up with the potential demand.
Anyone else heard anything?

I am curious what type of sanding sealer-grain filler others use. I am trying to use several brands from Home Depot, but they are all watery and thin. I am looking to seal Alder. What are others using that is a little thicker that can be found easily?
-
Can you wet sand Duplicolor paint?
-
I can do Satin Chrome powdercoating if anyone is interested
-
yep..lesson learned, don't use 80 grit with a powersander!
-
I have an rg 550 body that has a "dip" in the body where I sanded it to much
Make me an offer

Scott:
I have been thinking of doing a Limba neck
/how is the feel of the wood & most importantly, what is the tone like?
Also., did you buy it or build it?

Another reason to hate Gibson!!
Their quality is already CRAP.
Their target market is Doctors, Lawers, and Executives that want the "status" of owning a GIBSON
They are yet another big corporate foat-cat that wants to be in control of everything
And Fender ain't much better!!!
OOOHHH I am ANGRY!

I can do PRS bodies...what are you looking for?
-
so...who is the manufacturer that is going out of business?
-
ummm.......o.k.
All I aksed was if anyone heard a diference.
I think some of us are taking things a little too seriously!
I think I'll just use a Motherbucker pickup & a Washburn "Wonderbar" trem & call it a day.

Wow!!!!
Look at what I started!
I am going to probably build 2 identical bodies & try one with the direct connection & one without
And for what it is worth...I apreciate the feedback from those that have actully tried it & goten results.
That's what the forum is all about!
For those who offer theory without practice...thanks for the input, but I will consider the advice of those who actually did it!

I am working on my newest project..An Anderson style strat with a Black limba back & quilted maple drop top
I am trying to decide if I want to mount the pickup directly to the body, rather than the traditional pickup ring style
I am looking to the members of the forum to let me know if they feel there is a diferance in tone when you mount the pickup to the body.
Some say the tone resonates better, and other say there is not any difference
What are your thoughts????

Aren't his bodies slightly differant shaped than a Les Paul?
-
Bri:
Do you know if they will be set necks??????
I would be VERY happy if they were!
I could finally build the Les Paul relic that I have always dreamed of!

I will probably use stencils to paint the f-holes like they did on Pauls
