I thought of the neck through idea as well...the only problem is that I need a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard
Carvin only does Maple neck with Ebony fingerboards (if the info on the website is correct)
Anyone who has played the Les Pauls with the maple neck knows the tone difference between the maple & mahogany neck
Not saying that one is better than the other...just VERY differant tones!

Litchfield..can you be more specific on how to make the Warmoth neck converted to a set neck?
Remember, I don't want a bolt on neck & It must fit a Les Paul neck pocket
Thanks

What's the cost if you did it?
-
We just did a KILLER les paul re-top, but the guy wants to know if we can replace the neck
Does anyone know any supplier that does set-neck replacement necks?
I would even be open to creative ways to make Carvin, warmoth, etc. be converted to set necks...
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Rumour has it that dulop DOES carry SS frets
As the story goes, Tom Anderson & Warmoth put up the money for the machinery, tools, etc. that were needed for Dunlop to do SS frets
In turn, Dunlop promissed them exclusivity for a period of time
Or so the story goes...

I might be able to make you a Wolfgang template
E mail me with the pickup config, bridge, and neck you want to use & I will give you a quote
-
Wolfgangs are easy to do (however, I have no pix)
If I remember correctly, Wolfgangs have a carved top & Wolfgang specials do not
I am not a huge fan of the shape...I thought the EBMM Van Halen was much cooler IMO

No tease intended!
I switched to a MAC & posting pix has become a whole new experience
It will be posted soon, you have my word on it!

I just finished a Paul Reed Smith body....Do yourself a favor & go with the Les Paul!

Wow!
How did my thread on Mcnaught Guitar finishes & the Detroit Guitar show turn into "the Ed Roman show"
My only interaction with hte guy was that he was somewhat opinionated & wanted to charge HIGH prices...but as I think about it, I am opinionated & I like making money as well
Does that make me an A**hole?
Now, can I have my thread back?

If you want the BEST quilted & flamed maple at the BEST prices anywhere
They do Veneers, droptops, and carved tops & they are VERY cool
the website doesn't do them justice, trust me ...you won't be disapointed!

Do you know where Novi is?
Where are you at?

Well, I just got off the phone with Mr. McNaught himself!
He was a SUPER cool guy!
What he told me & swears this to be true...is that he is using the same water based dyes that you get from Stu Mac or LMI
The trick is that the dyes & sands down at least 4 times for each guitar
He says that it is extremely labour intensive & he gets call all the time from other guitar companies asking the same thing.
I believe him!
He was very helpfull & told me "it all starts with a great piece of wood & a lot of patience"
