  1. I thought of the neck through idea as well...the only problem is that I need a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard

Carvin only does Maple neck with Ebony fingerboards (if the info on the website is correct)

Anyone who has played the Les Pauls with the maple neck knows the tone difference between the maple & mahogany neck

Not saying that one is better than the other...just VERY differant tones!

  2. Smokeyjoe is building me a kick ass site!

If I ever get off my butt & give him what he needs to finish it, it will be great!

Check out the "shell site"Creativemusicconcepts.com & let me know what you think

By the way....Pix of 2 KILLER bodies will be up there soon as well as an AWESOME finish option!

  5. Well, I just got off the phone with Mr. McNaught himself!

He was a SUPER cool guy!

What he told me & swears this to be true...is that he is using the same water based dyes that you get from Stu Mac or LMI

The trick is that the dyes & sands down at least 4 times for each guitar

He says that it is extremely labour intensive & he gets call all the time from other guitar companies asking the same thing.

    I believe him!

He was very helpfull & told me "it all starts with a great piece of wood & a lot of patience"

    Dave
