16'' would help alot a good deal
but a PRS has "Perfect" fretwork and that counts for a lot
perry could answer your question on the differant fretwire
as he uses banjo wire i think on his shred neck option
-
how much did you like the feel of the 1-11/16"
then compare that to the feel of the 1-5/8"
your only talking a 16th from 1-11/16" to 1-3/4"......it can feel like a huge differance though
weigh the pros and cons of what you like
did you ask if they can make the template to the width you like
and if not trim it yourself
if you can handle building the neck itself than thining the template should not be so difficult
just some food for thought

Read the dream jobs post youll find my new one on the second page

it has to go through an amp to get any kind of volume
any amp will work just make sure you match your amps impedance
to the cab or you could blow somthing
you can run a 8ohm speaker on a 4 ohm amp and youll be ok
with impedance you can push uphill but not down
-
yeah that is an old vid but a great device
very expensive

Oh excellent. Now I have to go and buy a compressor. Thanks, Drak.

I just wander down to my local Shell garage and use their free airline - get a few odd looks but who cares !

on my rg centerd at the srap button the heel to front of nut is 31-3/16"
and its strung up with the nut in place but id have to say 14 degree angle on the head
as it looks the same as my rich that i know is 14
but that is eyeballed so it may not be exact
you could also check http://www.jemsite.com/ for more

thats where i get my rail pickups and they sound great
-
Dude that is such an awsome mock up
and shows your idea so clearly that even i understant it
kudos for taking the time to do that

I just cut my own. the only problem i have had was drilling the spring holes deeper
but i dont have a drill press with a vice just a hand drill. broke a couple of bits this way
so i just drilled new ones right next to the old ones
there is also a guy on fleabay that makes brass ones that are said to increase sustain
-
do you have any kind of cad software?
-
I thought Pete was going to post this but i dont see it.....have a look
does the driver look familiar also take note of the sheild on the front
its something i dont need even in the middle position. but i would on a homade driver
the needed info is in the middle of the page
-
try using the search function

its a shame but fleabay kinda dictates prices on used gear to a certain extent
not in every case but most. as people seem to wana take a chance on a better deal
-
see if this link helps you
http://www.partsexpress.com/webpage.cfm?&a...;WebPage_ID=100
the results will show what they have for drivers
but you can use thier parimeters to find a matching driver of a brand your interested in

I'm just thinking about the loads of E-mails that were sent
because of inpatiant people
the error i kept getting said my id # was deleted
yet i waited knowing how busy the administrators are
and while i like verhoevenc's idea im not sure it would change the situation much
as it seems it was a server problem and they may not have been able to contact
who runs the server in the first place (it was the weekend after all)
just my 2 cents
seems i typed this while scott was posting
so there you go

Buy the best tools you can afford
remember back in the day they did not have whats availible now
and time and practice will make perfect at one point and time
i still use toothed files. thats how i learn'd and what im comfortible with
but im sure ill try more options as i can save the money for them
-
if its dry then try not to buy it till your ready
and it all depends on the humidity. check with you supplier and see
how they stock it an do the same if they are in your enviroment

Hey Col i take it your a David Gilmour fan as the middle of the demo sounds a little like
Run like hell
the clipping is no worse than what i experiance. at this point convinced its a byproduct
of all sustainers as the floyds clipped and in the demos for the fernandes there is also some clipping
the poping is all would worry about
and by ossilations i take it you mean that little bit of worbble near the end?
i wouldn't mind hearing some more without the delay
ill post some more stuff in a day or so as i have been writing something aroundthe sustainer
thats pretty neat. this sustainer sounds great using tremolo
but i dont want to let anymore cats out of the bag yet

I know the street slang word is the "toothpaste" logo

I know this isn't the only source....4th pot down
http://guitarelectronics.zoovy.com/categor...s.2controlpots/
ill check another source that i get CTS pots cheap from
he does not have them listed but not all his stuff is
-
if you add a on/on dpdt mini switch or push pull pot and play around with cap values
you could have a "preset" tone that would give you one setting
or you could buy a "Ganged" pot also known as Stacked Concentric Pots
that is two pots in one and replace one of the current tone pots
hope this gives you some ideas
