Assuming you mean a firebird style mini humbucker
I use them all the time, and there seems to be a bit of variation between the available types, but if I recall it was slightly deeper than a regular 'bucker. Good to wait until you have it in hand. Are you mounting in a pickguard, in a firebird-style ring, or doing the wierd LP deluxe mounting?
It's a firebird style pickup ring.

Hey just a quick question is the routing depth for a mini humbucker the same as for a regular humbucker?

Well after having many headaches from having to smell laquer all day I am gonna build my own spray booth I got a perfect spot for one with a small window about ceiling height for fumes but I have a question I would have to have the window open for the fumes to escape but here in missouri we have prety bad winters so that woul in turn make my booth freezing cold and inpossible to spray in so what should I do? I would assume a heater but what kind would be safe with al the paint particles and fumes?

Hey man welcome to the forum firstly you dont really wanna sand your body with a fine grit probably about 15 minutes of sanding with some 220 is all you'll need cause you want the surface semi ruff so the paint well stick good then you'll want apply your stain. Then seal your body normally 2-3 coats is good then when clearcoating probably about 8 coats but I normally do as many as it takes to use 2 full cans.As far as suppliers try reranch there stuff is very very good and they have great tutorials on there site hope this helps cheers.

Ok I think I got the links fixed.Yeah I wasn't sure what would be a good price to sell them for but I figured similar plans from guitar plans unlimited are $15 and it cost me $5 to have them printed off and from what I can tell from the previews on there site mine look more detailed so I though $20 wasn't really to bad.

I was just wonering if anyone around here has one cause I am wanting to build one based on there design and am needing to know a few measurements.

Just spray very thin coats and make sure the body is filled and sealed well because gold shows every flaw.

This would seem like a better candidate for the job to me all you would have to do is extend the rod out further grizzly buffer

Hello all I recently have come into some money and I am thinking of investing in a pin router and normally before I go buying a new kind of tool I like to read up on them as much as I can to get a good idea of how they work and how to use them but I have ben unable to find any books on pin routers does anyone know of any?

It reminds me alot of this

To me the scratches dont look bad but if they ever started to really bug you you should be abe to use some fine grit sandpaper and buff them out.

The way a swirl works is by swirling the colors together.
That alone should give you a clue as to what you're doing wrong...
You're pouring a single color in your tub, and wondering why your guitar only comes out in a single color.
If you want a red-and-black swirl, those are the colors you need in your tub.
Or you could try red and a clear. That way, the base color (black) will show through where ever the clear is......
Ok thanks man much aqpreciated

Hellow all I know swirls have ben covered very extinsivley on the forum but none have covered the periticular problem I have I am trying to get a red swirl over a black base.So after I stir the red around a bit and go to dip it instead of geting a swirl I get a even coat of red over the whole thing so at first I thought I put to much red in so next time I put less in but had the same result only the red coating was fainter.I am using model masters enamel paint cause I cant find humbrols in my area and im using a rubber maid tub with borax.

Hellow I am in the process of of prepairing to buil a 59 les paul replica I have purchased a set of plans from stew mac and am puting money to the side to buy a set of templates from guitar building templates the only thing that I am not sure of is the carved top. The plans I bought show the top contour at certain points on the body but am just confused how to do it. I know theres a contour map on mimf of a 70's les paul and am wondering if anyone has a similar thing of a 59 or if someone who had a similar project had any any advice all help is much apreciated.

A way to tell a american from a mexican is under the pickguard you will see either 1 or 3 holes these are drilled to hold the body down during cnc machining and as the mexican plant uses adifferen style the use 3 holes as aposed to the ameican 1 as for the few japanese I have seen there isn't a hole.

Hi all,
This is my first post here but I've been reading the forum for quite some time. My question is this...I've got a 1975 Fender Precision bass that I've refinished several times. It's currently a dark green color and I would like to strip it down and take it back to it's original color, which was just a natural finish. The body is Ash. My concern is that since the neck has aged to that amber color now that if I refinish it back to natural, that the neck might look funny on it. Is there some way to get the body to look like the neck? Would I need to tint the clear coat or would poly just turn amber after a while?
You can buy tinted lacquer from reranch just build it up till your happy with the color then add some chips and scratches and wa la.

As far as coats I dont know as everyone idea of what a coat is all varies but I normally put on about 2 3/4-3 cans of laquer just to make sure I got a little extra on there for sanding and what not hope this helps cheers.
