hey guys hows it going...im new to project guitar and also to hot rodding guitars so i need some help ( not the mental kind though ) i have a grg170dx with a FAT10 bridge and before you say CRAP GUITAR..its brand new and cost me next to nothing ( i got it from a friend who want3ed to play guitar and realised its harder than it looks dah ) so moving on i want to put a floyd rose locking tremolo into it and a nut lock and have never done this before so the questions are as follows
1. do i need to route the bridge cavity to make it fit
2. will i have to repaint/touchup
3. would it be easier to have a proffesional do it
so if you guys could help me out that would be brilliant... seano

Re-finishing My Rg550
in In Progress and Finished Work
Posted · Edited by seano
hey all just wanted to show you my progress on my rg 550.. The body was pretty banged up lots of scratches and chips and heaps of cracks in the finish not too bad tho for a 1994 rg550 mad in japan . but i wasnt really that happy with the finish so i surfed this website for days gathering all the information i could brfore deciding on a material finish. the finish was so hard to get off i used heaps of paint stripper and hours of hand sanding to get back to bare wood.
once there though i just followed the tutorial on this site and im almost done just have to clear coat 4/5 times have the new pots wired in and the pickups too re-assemble and then its time to
entire project
