snakeskin is decently easy to do. The key is that you need fishnet stockings. You get ones that are the size you want for the scales, then you have to stretch them over the guitar. Make sure the guitar is already based in the color that you want between the scales. Then just go at it with the colors you want the scales to be. I'd recommend practicing first as with most things, but give it a go, it does look cool when it's done well. Also, for highlights on the scales, if you decide to do that, you pretty much have to do them one at a time. You can't do that with a spray can, you could do it with a brush if you wanted, just keep the paint thin, otherwise you can do the rest with a spray can if you wanted. Good look with it. The laundry bag will work fine as well, if you like the shape of the holes.

you could hand paint it, but you want to try and keep it as thin as possible, or smooth would be a good way to put it. I don't know what you want to paint it with, but if you aren't painting with lacquer then you don't want to finish it with lacquer, that'll eat through the other paint, not a good thing. You can clear acrylics and uros and even enamels with uro clear. That's what I would use.

I've heard good things about re-ranch paints. As far as the temp. go's look at the paint instructions, they usually put good painting temps on. Good luck and post pics when your done.

I am not sure how cheap the guitar actually is but many of the cheaper guitars are actually made of plywood and that (at least in my opinion) is not good to look at. The one I am currently refinishing is and any little bump shows the next layer of wood, the top wood is also just not great looking.

Assuming that they both have the same woods I don't see why they wouldn't.

I think that I actually saw a guitar somewhere on the internet that someone had built for them. It looked exactly the same and the guy called if Icefly if I remember correctly. I do think it's pretty cool, though I would have to agree to go with a neck through.

I personally like the 5 string basses more. If anything I like to rest my thumb on the B string.

MiKro, that is amazingly awesome. Now as for my favorite guitarist I would have to say Robert Fripp. He is by far the most technically perfect as well as incredibly creative and different. Listen to lots of King Crimson stuff and you will hopefully see what I mean, especially listen to fracture. Contrary to what my friends thought in the parts that are just guitar it is one guitar not two.

Well, I've decided that I'm going to paint the picture with an airbrush. There are nice ones at airbrush.com that are being sold a lot cheaper than in stores. So what type of paint should I use?

I'm certainly no expert, but it seems to me that you could make the inlay on scrap and then glue it into the guitar. Just an idear.

I would say use the radiusing block. With a flat block it's easy to screw up surfaces that are supposed to rounded (i.e. fretboard, frets, etc.)

I'm currently refinishing a really cheap LP copy for experience and fun. I'm painting part of the cover of In The Court Of The Crimson King on the top. I need to know what the best way to paint it is (i.e. by hand, airbrush, whatever), what type of paint to use, and if airbrushing is good where I could get one cheap. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
