thats a good suggestion, and Id definitaly do it myself, this is a learning project. You think Id have to cut new fret slots once i sanded it down? Or just clean out the existing ones? Also if I for some reason cant get them back in, I could always make it a fretless

Awhile back I bought a real old silvertone archtop at a garage sale for $1, but it was "restored" by the previous owner very poorly. He had painted the entire guitar, aswell as the fretboard and neck with blue and green paint. I stripped the paint off the body, and sanded it to get the paint that seeped into the wood out, and that turned out fine. I stripped and sanded the back of the neck and headstock, and that worked fine. The thing that is stumping me is the fretboard. I put some stripper on there(its a natural stripper called circa 1850, seemed to work well)and managed to get off most of the paint, but clearly it needs to be sanded to get the rest off. Preblem is, Im not sure how to go about sanding it because the wood I want to sand is between the frets. Any ideas? Im having trouble with this. Should I make it into a fretless? Thansk a lot.

Can you maybe take some pics/ draw some pictures of how the front goes in. Im still not 100% sure what you mean by that.

awesome, thanks for the tips dude. Anyone else? Im kind of wondering about something too, maybe someone can answer me. I know you have the four sides, and a removable back, but then theres the front. My question is, for the front is it kind of recessed in, non removable, with the hole cut for the speaker, and then an insert for the grille. Or is it like the piece with the speaker with the grillecloth over that, then screwed in? Just kind of wondering. I really gotta go look at some other cabinets

Ive been browsing here for almost a year now, and finally decided to sign up. Ok wasnt exactly sure what section amp questions would go into, but here we go anyways. Id love it if you guys could answer some of my questions.

Ok im making myself a little 112 cabinet. Ive never made cabinets before, but im good at woodworking. Pretty much what i want to know is, what are some dos and donts of cabinet making? Maybe post some pics of open cabinets, just give me some tips, and possibly post some links or something. This would be great guys, i really appreciate your help. Maybe just some general knowledge on the construction of cabinets and stuff. Thanks for the help guys.
