  1. you could wire a switch jack to disconnect the internal speaker when you plug in the extension.

i like this idea too, i missed it first time round, so... anyone gonna tell me how to do this then?!?!

i mean, where do you buy them for a start, and could anyone do a diagram of where to put it in?!? :D

  2. k, i dunno how to get a picture up on here and i just had a great idea, could i put a switch in, so i could either use the 4x12 cab, or the 1x12 that's already in the amp!! if some one tells me hoe to get a picture on here i'll show you all!!!

  3. :D yat, cheers, i have a few more Questions that i'll probly post later on (i need a diagram to help explain them!!!)

    and answering some questions,

Buy the best speakers you can afford

i'm poor and can't afford expencive speakers, i could save up and Buy a marshall mg412!!

Is your Marshall an open back or is it closed? The manual that lovekraft linked to earlier doesn't have pictures of it's back side. Can you see the two wires that are connected to the speaker? Are these wires soldered on are or are they connected with blade connectors?

it's open backed, i can see the two wires, and yes, i think they are blade connectors!!!

  4. like to add your own output jack, etc. If you didn't understand the suggestions, please ask specific questions.

so, how do i add my own output jack?!!

    :D

(sorry if this has been said before, i am a small brained person and things need to be explained to me in the simpleest way possible!!)

  5. Your Line/Headphone Out (+4dBV) is not capable of driving an extension cabinet. Your only option is to disconnect the internal speaker leads and run them to your cabinet, and I don't think you'll find any improvement in volume. I've checked the manual, and there's no way around the headphone jack shutting down the internal speaker without rewiring, so unless you buy a power amp and speakers, that output won't help you. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I've spent a lot of money on ideas that wouldn't work, and I always wished afterwards that somebody had told me before I spent it. Good luck.

ah, so that's y when i tried running it straight through a monitor, it was really quiet!!!

  6. I'm not sure that 30 watt combo will move enough air to make a 4-12 cab worthwhile - maybe a single 12 in a Thiele cab would work. You may want to borrow a cab and hook it up to your speaker leads before you spend any money and then find out your amp won't drive the load.

i don't really want to put in 1x12" speaker, becuse the line out stops the speaker inside the amp form making a noise, the only way to get any more power out of it would be to put in 2x12" speakers!!!

  7. would it be possible to build an extention cab for my marshall mg 30 dfx?? if so how much would it cost, and can anyone give me any sites that sell the speakers?!

(i'm only looking to build a 4x12/2x12 cab!!)
