Cheers to Drak!
jimmyb- Stew Mac has the one-piece McCarty bridge but other than that I think they make their own hardware (tuners, pickups, etc.)
-
I think what the dillhole is trying to say is that his reply is basically a tutorial. I'm sure what John thought was the same as I thought: you posted a tutorial in the tutorial section. Seems like a logical understanding of the sentence
How about someone posting a tutorial on carving tops.I just did. -
Whoops, I thought he put a tut. on the main page
-
Really?!?
I didn't see it on the tutorial section. What's it called?
-
Nice to see another Canuck here, especially one doing such a sweet job!! Are the guys you're working with connected with the Fretworks guitar school in any way?

We already have a forum for that, you posting in it right now.
Good call

How would you quantify a change in shape?
*Now with 10% more cutaway!*
-
There's only 5 colors though.

Sorry, it's actually called metalcast. Makes stuff look like this
-
I had to vote Wolfenstein 'cause that's all my comp could run back in the day. Sad times.
-
So as long as I don't try to sell it I can copy whoever I want?
Conversely, if I want to try to sell a guitar it has to be pretty different from other body styles?
-
If you don't want the 'shelfing' at the top, just adjust the depth until that part is no longer cutting
That second bit is more like what I'm after. I only want to use the router for the flat-ish area just at the very outsido of the body.
-
You fancy telling us how you did the LED work?
YEAH! YEAH!
-
Kinda like the one on the right.
-
Would a 1/2" radius half round bit be able to do something like that? I've got one with a ball bearing on the bottom that might be what I need.
-
So...
What does that do to JUST ABOUT EVERY GUITAR MAKER that uses those shapes???
From Epiphone...
This could get messy REAL quick

How 'bout an EASTERN Canada guitar show?
We're people too you know

When you see the $$ and look like this

Check out www.duplicolor.com and the Metaliser paint. Supposed to look chrome-ish
-
Yeah, that's on the StewMac link above, it looks sweet
-
Looks interesting. Keep it up

I'd take one of the Schaller or Hipshot ones myself

Sweet, thanks
Deft gloss lacquer?

I used it one time and brushed it on (huge pain!). It went well except for the hairs of the brush kept getting ripped out and I'd have to try to flick them out of the wet, thick finish.
After a coat I'd have to clean the brush out which took almost as long as it did to do a coat. In the end it looks good, or at least it would if I had discovered the necessity of sealing/filling the pores of mahoghany. 11 coats and dimples still not gone... Ah well, this time I'll get 'er right. ![:D](//content.invisioncic.com/r24679/emoticons/default_biggrin.png)
