Welcome. Guitar Build has some plans for download. Also, take the time to read the tutorials that are available here.

I've seen those before (online). Anybody played one? That's got to be weird to get used to...
-
I must say, Snork, looking good. I can't see the pics from here (wasting time at work), but looked last night. Is that a ridge on the carved top? I was tired last night and don't really remember exactly what it looked like...

Hmmm, I wonder if I can talk my girlfriend into letting me take over her walk-in closet.
Seriously, looking good.

I've been piecing them together for a few years. I just got brave enough (after I found this site) to start my first scratch built body. I'm hoping to have that done in the next few months...

Off and on for 12 years (more off than on). I started getting serious about 2 to 3 years ago, lessons, books, etc.. I've been going to National Guitar Workshop for the past few years, a very humbling experience...

Cool. Let me know how you like the spindle sander. I'll be in the market for a cheap one very soon.

haven't you heard of the jewish mafia? lol im german/russian/polish/austrian.
That has the makings of a bad sitcom written all over it...

All great guitars. So, the runners up will have to re-enter for the next several months so that we can vote for them all, right?

Hey Southpa, great tip on the dentist drill bits. I just got back from the dentist and she gave me 3 bits (2 round and 1 straight cut).

WOW!!! Nice job...

My router is out for delivery today. By the description it seems like a good deal, fairly reasonably priced, sufficient power, plunge and fixed bases, etc.. I got this for my first guitar project, so I'll let you know how I like it. Others may have more to say, or different suggestions.

You may want to ask Rodney, he seems to know his way around a bandsaw...

ovation! look at the bright side! i be with ya in hell !!!!! man i hate old navy!
I just hate Fran Dresher...
-
What do you mean, like poly or lacquer? What make/model guitar is it?
-
My idea of hell would be to be held captive in a football stadium, forced to watch the entire SEC play non-stop, and listen to Fender amps wailiing out "Stairway to Heaven", "Freebird", and "If".
Mine would be having watch Fran Dresher on those stupid Old Navy commercials...

Lucky... I only get one crazy night. Well two, if you count having to go the girlfriends house the next night... It's completely different spending time with the insane family, especially when they're not "you're" family...

You forgot to put G.E. Smith
The Saturday Night Live guy?
-
Very nice...

Iommi. I still have all of my finger tips though...
-
That is hilarious....

Check out the stop tail on a Wolfgang, if you're interested in a stop tail with little or 0 angle.

...until I realized that I was spending Saturday night looking up Floral Fabric Patterns online.
You understand, I had just read Brian's tutorial on material finishing...one thing led to another...well, they were BLACK Florals for chrissakes...
No no no! (tamping my foot on floor), you fellahs have got it all wrong...material finish is required coutere here!I think we need to look at a nice floral batik, something in a nice tulip with a splash of gentle green fronds, no?
Another wasted Saturday night?

I just glued up some Alder last night for a body and am still in the planning stages for my first scratch built. I had been thinking Wilkinson with locking tuners, but am wanting to hear peoples opinions on trem setups. I'm not sure I'm a fan of the lock nut, because I like being able to quickly switch to an open tuning. Would a Floyd work with just locking tuners and regular nut? Opinions and ideas welcome.
Manual or automatic

3 out of the past 4 have been 5 speeds. I would probably kill myself with a car that needed 6 speeds. And I'll have to agree with nyjbkim, with bad knees and bad traffic I'm starting to think it's time to consider another automatic...
