  1. could you give us a detailed description of all the changes you have made, like what pups have you put on etc. Currently given time to get money i would offer something like £120 for it, about $200 lol
  2. I know what you guys mean, I really want to email him about the hamer prototype he has there for sale. to ask what the price is on it etc, but i dont want to deal with him at all, he has less then faveorable reviews plus he was rude to me in an email he sent to me regarding ibanez parts. so if anyone knows anyone whos selling a hamer prototype then pm me ^^ lol. rob
  3. Why a tele body ? i first started playing on a telecaster, it was great im used to them and i love the look, the weight of them etc. My first tele has been modded with a seymour duncan hot rails which is also coil tapped to keep its twang. ive installed a midi system into it, replaced the nut etc. I dont mind paying so much for whatever wood as long as its good quality i earn a decent amount of money and i dont mind paying extra for good wood. it would make sense to use a lp body for this project or a superstrat, but i never am comfortable with a big slab of wood like the lp. and superstrats are way to light in my opinion. I dont mind the pickups sounding muddy. nothing a good eq wont sort out. im asking for the highest gain pup on the market. like, the kent armstrong motherbucker the dimarzio x2n etc. well couldnt i tap the volume as well as the tone pot? to activate the sustainer? cheers
  4. yeah ive already seen the john 5, meh i hate it lol the headstocks fugly. Not many people will like the kramer style headstock granted but meh, its my project!
  5. Ok guys, For my new \M/etal tele ive come up with this design with the help of kisakae Here is the design This is the \M/K3 in my metal tele series. Its going to boast a 24 fret ebony neck, fully scalloped 1/8. white korina ((if i can get it )) body. partially rear and partially front routed and contours for added comfort. Black washburn wonderbar bridge. Kramer hockey headstock/neck. Black schallers. 3 ply pickguard etc. ive decided that i would go for a sustainer system not sure if it will be a sustainiac or a fernandes yet but when i finish my \M/K2 tele i should know what i want. and Some sort of pickup in the bridge. A few questions, Wheres a good distrubuter of 1 or 2 peice high grade white korina? one that i can buy direct on the net preferably. Whats the general advantages of the sustainiac over the fernandes sustainer? What is the most craziest highest output pickup available on the market today? would having a true 24 fret ((not extended)) neck effect the scale length of the tele? ((Btw the headstock will not be angled)) Could i use a coil tap mounted in the tone control to switch on the sustainer rather then a micro switch ? (( i find these particulary offensive to my eyes)) cheers
  6. So if the pole peices didnt align would it make much difference to the sound. I was thinking of a set of emg 81/85's .
  7. Hey gang, i have just purchased a washburn route 24 that has been routed for a washburn wonderbar trem, thing is i have a gibson spaced gold model of the wonderbar, would the nut width be right for this spaced trem? if not, can i get the neck modified to accept whatever nut width it needs to be, or would i be better off making a new neck? thanks. rob
  8. Really? i would have thought that because the string is inbetween pole peices when a humbucker is angled, whenever theres string bends, it would accent the harmonics of the pickup and wouldnt effect the sustain of normal fretting? or am i wrong here?
  9. Im trying to recreate a bastardisation of 80's shredmachines on a 60's musiclander body. so i wanted to make the pickup angled. So what sort of pickup should i go for if i wanted to angle it ? the bridge itself is gibson spaced. should i go for a gibson spaced pickup? what examples are there of gibson spaced pickups? or are they usually gibson spaced anyway ? :S
  10. ok ive made threads about my washburn wonderbar, now for the next stage of my project. Ive decided on a single angled humbucker pickup in the bridge. If the humbucker was angled would the poles peices on the humbucker completely miss the strings? the wonderbar is gibson spaced and the nut will be gibson width, so would i need a special gibson spaced pickup ? Also i need help on what pickups are available that would suit this confgiuration. money is no object really. I freely welcome any suggestions, i would like to play out and out shred metal. cheers. rob
  11. hmmm, but if it was cut 1 11/16th then it would take a gibson spaced nut but in a fender sort of set up as in being on the fretboard rather then next to it ?
  12. well ive decided that to get gibson nut width 1 11/16th in the fender type neck, there would be no strings running off the fretboard. im used to gibson type necks, so if i get a gibson type nut and it ran into my gibson spaced bridge there should be no problem right? and there would be no intonation problems as long as i place the bridge correctly? where would i put the bridge ?
  13. Ok my custom project is going well, ive found a washburn wonderbar that i really want, but its got gibson spacing and the neck im getting is of a fender type. But i can get different nut widths for it. heres the specs that is standard with the neck 25-1/2" Scale, 22 Frets 10"-16"compound radius fretboard - 1/4" thick Double expanding truss rod Flat bottom nut slot Heres the different nut widths. 1-5/8" (41.27mm) 1-11/16" (42.85mm) 1-3/4" (44.45mm) So is it possible to use one of the above nut widths and keep the intonation correct and scale length using a gibson spaced tremelo? if not is there anyway i can keep the gibbo spaced tremelo and a fender type neck without affecting the intonation or any other factors?
  14. Ok they guy on ebay has a gold wonderbar that i really want. Thing its a gibson type spacing one. Could i put a gibson type nut width on a fender type neck ? would it intonate properly?
  15. i would preferably buy it brand new from a place other then ebay, I have no respect or trust for ebayers. sorry lol.... well ok im considering it because they seem quite hard to find, is there any questions i should ask the buyer? about the trem like what necks would it be compatable with etc? sorry i have no expereince with tremolos at all!
  16. Thing is with a flying V headstock, its anyones guess on who would sue first, Dean or Kramer?! lol Personally i think headstocks dont matter as much in resonance and sustain stakes. Large headstocks are my fave for strength purposes. Such as a fender 70s style headstock
  17. Hey people, i was wondering before orderinga warmoth body. That is there any place new on the net where i can buy a washburn wonderbar bridge? I need to know before ordering because with the wonderbar, it doesant need any routingat all to install. So i need to know if its possible to get one before ordering. Also is there a 7 string version anywhere? cheers
  18. well its not a fixed bridge But theres a bridge called a washburn "wonderbar" ((Carefully spelt)) And its like a floydd that you can put on with no routing whatsoever.
  19. Ok guys, my good buddy streamline has said to me that he could scallop my telecasters fretboard, entirety of it. The thing is, i want to know if scalloping my fretboard would have any tracking defects on the midi system i also have built into it. Such as string tension etc. Im very worried. Also would the scalloping effect a fernandes sustainer in anyway ? thanks
  20. heya people, ive been lucky enough to purchase a "indie Dragon" guitar. its korean made and has a licensed floydd trem, unfortunatly i have no idea what would could replace it that is ofr or of comparable quality. apparantly there would be a big gaping hole by the bass end. i have pictures of the guitar and a close up of the floydd here Ultimate guitar GOTW i was wondering what floydd would suit the guitar best. I heard that gotohs would probably be the best option as it has a larger bass "wing" if you like, also ive been told the trem posts are a little small. Im sorry about lack of knowledge ive never had a floydd trem guitar before im more of a stoptail man meself:) . Also has anyone any idea where i can get the right trem, but gold plated. Money isent really an issue i can spend up to £200 $300 on it. Thanks guys
