  1. Good luck with this, not guitar related I had some computer parts sent to me VIA UPS and they got all jacked up and well lets just say getting an insurance claim outta thems like pulling teeth without any shots first. Its gonna be alota fun, just kidding it aint, good luck. Since then, newegg.com stopped using UPS and is now only using FedEX, so far so good, everyones been much happier with that decision. Hope you get another neck outta it at least.

  2. Personally, I agree with Alexander, sometimes instrumental while totally kick ass of course gets kinda old. Its nice to hear some brilliant lyrics along with some kick ass guitar work.

Then again, the instrumental stuff still rules, so I just really enjoy it all.

    :D

  3. u consider a washburn, they have some bolt on ones from musiscians friend, heres the link, if you just needed a bolted on neck id look at those, good luck, i know your wanting to trade something for it, so hopefully someone can help ya out, but good luck finding a neck

Id doubt for a 179 bucks that this thing is a set neck :D

then again if it is maybe I should buy one just because

    cheers mate

  4. Nice work, I like this. I hope you get it to work right.

I was gonna suggest you should consider one of the neck kits from a SAGA kit. It has a nice big paddle head so you can cut whatever headstock design you like.

Warmoth makes some great Paddle heads too. I know you wanted to do this on the cheap, but I think a blank paddle head would make the Headstock task much easier. Worth the amount of money if you ask me. It needs the Triangle headstock. The Encore as it just dont look right to me. IMHO. But to get it playable, would work.

    Best of Luck to you.

  5. Im an itty bitty guy, so a good ol ES 335 or the like is kinda too big to sit with, I hate standing, I almost always sit, so its preference. I love they way they sound, typically a bit more mellow. If you dont crank the amp up all the way, its like a nice acoustic reverb sound almost. So the way I interperet it. Now if I ever got ahold of a Les Paulish Semi Hollow I might like it a bit more, it would be much easier to deal with given my smaller size. Again, its up to you. One nice benefit. If you dont have an amp handy you can still jam out and hear yourself. Just sit down with a few at a store and mess around with it.

    Have fun deciding.

Thats always the best part aint it.

  6. Hey man, finally someone that likes Punk, real punk, and 80s shred. I loved the word you used, what was it, Metallica is Nu Pop, haha

funni, yea I hate them too.

Im in San Antonio, your other neighbor :D

Rock on man, glad to see one with some similar views as I.

If your ever down this way, I can point ya in the right places around here for stuff.

    Cheers

BTW I love Wasabi. It anit Sushi with out some.

  7. not to drag up ol posts, but I just recently decied to start frequenting here again, is that a pickguard on the front???? Just curious, thinking remove the guard for safe keeping, cut a new piece of pearloid in that exact shape and you can beat the hell outta it with out worry :D Give it a Dano look almost B)

just an ideal, shoot its a single pickup no nonsense lp, perfect considering I just usually set the knob, leave it on a pickup and strum away, Im actually thinking that would be kinda cool, Ill give it thought, get back to ya if you still have this and want to maybe sell it.

    Cheers

  8. HI all

Decided to start playin again. Some of you early members might remember me from yesteryear. I decided to play guitar again. I sadly sold everything a while back, rent stuff like that, gotta eat. :D So that ol 6 string bug never left though, and I am kinda guitarless.

So, hopefully someone around here might have something Im interested in. I figured this would be a good place to look, the bay IMHO has just been well lets say this is a family venue so I wont speak my true feelings, but I tend to try and stay away from the bay these days.

    So.....

    Moving along.

Looking to buy a JS model. Preferrably a JS100 as I would rather save the dough over getting a 1000 or better and just drop the Dimarzios in a 100 myself, save a few bux. Would consider a good deal on an S Series, cause I just need something to strum on. But a Satch would be nicer.

I do have some various parts for a frankenstrat I intended to build back when I was really interested in this scratch building that this place is famous for, but I doubt Ill ever get around to it, so they could be for sale or trade.

Once I get a new battery for the digital camera, Ill snap some shots of the things I have.

    LMK what you might got.

    Cheers all.

Im in no rush on this either.

  11. OK, guys, someone posted a poll whos your favorite guitarist, I had to post whos your favorite Bassist, now I listed my personal Favorites, actually theres many more but I thought Id list the highlight ones, Jaco's Solos just really get my attention everytime I hear them, I kinda think he stole the show quite often with some of his work hehehe, as for speaking about stealing the show as a Bassist, Geddy Lees the front man of Rush as we all know, it must be cool to be the front man and be the bassist instead, really cool for me, I really really love Tommy Shannon, Im a big SRV fan but Tommy is just great, it must be rough to fill the shoes of a Bass player when your playing along with a great guitarist and not the front liner, wich basically most of these guys I listed are in the company of great guitarists, im sure my whos your favorite guitarist poll if i posted one would comprise of SRV, Jimmy Page, Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, and Joe Satriani, seeing Stu and Roscoe up there in that G3 DVD was like BONUS, a 2 for 1 in the same show, :D made me happy, and lets not forget theres other great bassists and guitarist, please pencil in your favorites that I might have not mentioned, trust me the list could go on as I could list many more bassists but these are my top favorites. I would have to say those guys listed really get the groove on, ok im being silly now, btw I voted Tommy Shannon because I felt hes one of the forgotten guys that always gots stuck behind the lime light of the front runner, anyways thats me, I usually run across someone whos like yea yea that guy kicks ass when I mention SRV but then Im like ok now whats the bass players name or the drummer for that matter and its usually like ummmm ummmmmm I dunno, I hate that ****, or Im like whos Jaco Pastorius and again, ummmmmmm who????????? anyways vote away for your favorites

  12. I dunno, I think the best Quailty always wins no matter how fast or slow it takes, especially if its a custom jobber, I think taking your time, get it right once is better than fix it later, Im lazy so I wouldnt want to have to send it to someone or bother with it myself, so I would rather have a high Quality, cost is a factor yes, but sometimes paying more dont mean getting more, so its all realative, I would vote for 2 however as its the nice happy medium of the 3 choices I think a nice middle of the road instrument and good turn around time is the best deal, because A I dont have lots of money and B I think a ready made instrument shouldnt take forever to get to me, I only expect to wait if its a custom jobber and or Im adding or making changes to something already good to go. Thats my opinion. And lowest price is always a good thing.

  13. Just about everyone listed here in the original post and all the addins are just great, in fact any guitarist, bassist hell musician that even trys good or not gets my vote, basically any one skill level etc... its not an easy aspect for most and I appreciate just the effort, as for the addins I would have to pencil in Kenny Wayne Sheppard, and I would also like to add BB King and Albert Collins because everyone else I would have added in was already mentioned up there in the other posts.

and Bassists, well I guess Ill have to start another poll wont I

  14. I have been hearing that the Earvana compenstated nuts are great, if you end up trying one or if anyone does for that matter, lemme and the rest of us know if its worth it or not, as for me, I rarely tune up and change strings as faithfully as my oil, wich means hardly ever, anyways, just mentioning that, changing string guages could help or just simply a fresh set of strings of same guage, sometimes you just get a crappy string, it happens or especially if the ones on it are reasonably played out like mine usually are, good luck
