  1. as far as i can tell its just some kinda tone control, its much like you said a mid filter probably, i mostly leave it around 7 to 8 on mine and my buddy leaves his around the 5 o clock spot, honestly i dont know and i just leave it alone and mainly screw with my pedal settings mostly to dial what kinda sounds im after, i dont use the anything except the clean channel with a bunch of boss and dod pedals that i cut a handle hole into a piece of plywood and zip tied em to, aka my own cheap ass homebrew pedal board, but it works, and i also i have my champ amp for the apartment and the marshall i left at friends house, yea 50 watts is more than enough

    go for it

  3. is it a japanese made squier, cause some of the japanese fender chunks of wood that just didnt cut the mustard for the fender decal got decaled squire, theres usually a slight blem in it somewheres, usually cosmetic and so it got dubbed squire im sure, but superior parts still non of the less, and quite frankly, some of the mij squiers are superior to the im my personal opinion american standard guitars, the mij fenders are just as good, if not better than most miusa fenders, also, yea that site does have good prices, i been wondering myself how they do it so cheap, even ebay cant hook you up for mm lic fender neck for that price these dayz, mm is supposed to be alright replacement parts.

  4. I dropped this link into the contest, its a homebrew amp page, i thought since you guys and gals are all scratch built guitar peoples that you might wanna know about scratch built amps too, i know im interested in doing one some day, im also in need of a potentiometer for a marshall amp i promised i d fix for a friend, anyone happen to have a 100k aj marshall gain pot laying around, oh it needs to be a pcb type, not a hand wired type

cheers and have a nice day

  5. ever heard of the earvana nut system http://www.earvana.com its supposed to be something similar in that the first 5 frets have truer chordings, it shortens the strings a bit towards the bridge, from what i gather its based on same concept of the buzz system, or at least thats what i think they are saying, and to me looks like an easier mod , thats why im considering it for my 2 projects right now, but i havent decided yet

  6. yeah thats right, a cab = cabinet, aka those big enclosures with 4 speakers in them, and then theres the head that goes on top, with just the controls and electronics in it, so a half stack would be a head and one enclosure with 4 speakers underneath for a total of 2 pieces and then a full stack would be 2 of those enclosures with a head on top for a total of 8 speakers 3 pieces, and combos, aka the speaker and amplifier is all in one enclosure, but can have anything usually no more than 4 speakers in it, a good example is a fender bassman, it has 4 speakers in it, but usually combos are 1 or 2 speaker designs and is a one piece setup.

Kind redundant cause he did answer the question, i just wanted to expand some.
