    Awesome, thanks for the replies guys. I can't wait to get cracking on planing these, since it'll give me an opportunity to use the router thicknessing jig stickied on this forum that I've just been constructing.

    I've got a few planks of English Sycamore ready for turning into Strat necks here, and I'm planning on making 2 piece necks with them all so this wood will only be used for the back of the neck, not the fretboard. What thickness should I plane them all to, for dimensions that will be accurate to a vintage or modern USA std Strat? 13/16"? 3/4"?
