  1. Hello, Here's a pic of my doubleneck project..Thanks.
  2. Hello, Well I tried a bunch of stuff and I just couldn't get a clean sound without the distortion. I told him I guess the pickups are just alittle to hot . You can either keep the active pickups and don't worry about the clean mode or put the passives back in , Which I did . Problem solved , for now. I'am building a doubleneck Explorer which I'll put the active pickups in the bottom and put passive on top.Thanks.
  3. Hello, My son just bought a pair of active humbucker pickups. The output is around 58k ohms..Pots are 2 volume, 1 tone ,3 way switch. Pots are 25k.The problem seems to be when he switches between heavy distortion to a clean mode. There seems to be much distortion in the clean mode. It's not clean enough. He has a Marshall MG100 HDFX head with 412A &B cabinets. Are the pickups just too heavy to play clean or did I miss something in the wiring. I just thought of something, I didn't change the Tone capacitor that I used for the passive pickups. Would it be a different value. Thanks.

  6. Hello, Thanks for the reply. I have some other designs for the top horn. Yes the plates hold the 2 side pods. The same plates are on the back also . But the top plates will hold by themselves if I want to save weight. As for the headstock you will have to wait and see.Thanks.
  7. Hello, I'am back with another one .The yellowish colour on the front is masking tape protecting the aluminum pieces.Waiting for the good weather to paint.Haven't decided on the LARGE horn yet . Might try a piece of aluminum in the same shape. or a piece of acrylic then add some LED lites.Comments always welcome. Thanks , Mark.
  8. I should read more carefully Hello, And thank you . Yes the tremolo is homemade. I designed it very simple because I don't have a CNC machine . Just a belt sander to shape and saws. There is lots of room to slide the hand on the neck .
  9. Hello, I do all the work myself even with the lack of equipment. On the 4th guitar the tremolo I designed and built myself .As for the necks, I don't build them , but I have starting one.I have to try one at least. The electronics are setup up as the 12&6 strings have their own 2 volume, 1 tone and 3 way switch with another 3 way to switch between the 2 of them. Thanks. Mark.
  10. I started building guitars for my sons because they're both leftys. My oldest wanted a white EXPLORER . We couldn't find one. So I said, how hard could it be to build one. This is my 1st . The 2nd http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j194/gri...rs/100_1365.jpg The 3rd http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j194/gri...rs/100_2684.jpg There are spinners on the body with flashing LED lites. The 4th still in progess http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j194/gri...rs/100_2797.jpg
