    would the guitar output just be from the pickup at the same place as the sustainer in? almost done with mine!

    i know loads of people that have. all major pickup manufacturers started by handmaking at some point or another. just have to practice until you actually get what you're looking for.

    first of all, don't expect any of the settings on the spider to be overwhelming. cut back on the distortion, i'm guessing it's insanely high based on your scooped mids. unscoop your mids, too.

    can't forget any of the older kahler fulcrum ones. they're excellent. and about the ibanez- it's personal opinion. many of my friends swear by the ZR.

    what do you want in positions 2 and 4? one coil from each of the humbuckers, or just coil tapped?

    you could always use concentric pots as well.
