I have removed the hex screws on the front, but the bloody back screws wont budge, and my screw drivers wont grip.
wat do i do?

um i am trying to remove the tuning pegs from the headstock, and they wont budge, they are gotoh
HELP
-
Thankyou all for the advice and help
The Shape does fit in this headstock for some reason
maybe because its not a real strat neck
But yes i have a USA customshop 1960 masterbuilt strat, and i know wat your talking about with the angle and shape
The vai necks are a lot thinner for shredding
so im thinking i might be able to get away with shaving it down a little
-
I have a 22 fret maple strat shape neck
but i want to convert it 2 a jackson shaped headstock
and shave the neck to be like a vai wizard neck
is this possible?
-
awesome guitar man, i was wondering how did u get that burnt finish because i was thinkin of doin the same for my explorer
-
Hey i was thinking of buying these templates:
http://www.guitarbuildingtemplates.com/58Explorer.htm
But im not sure about the neck joint
because if i buy a jackson neck, what do i do then?
HELP
-
Well im just about to leave and buy some wood now!
probably some mahogony or ash or rosewood for the body
and i was going 2 use templates or proper measurements from the gibson site
-
well are u going 2 string it? lol
how long did it take to build?
-
good point
thankyou
haha
any suggestions on building the explorer body?
-
Is this your first build?

how bout that neck?
any other problems i should watch out for?
and can you help me with anything else?
-
Those people who are selling those fretboards are very sneaky
they say "check my store for inlays to fit this fingerboard"
and the inlays cost $20
but what i thought was a good idea is:
if you buy a jackson neck
then u can build the body and make the neck joint to the right specs. of the neck
-
well i dont have "alot" of money so i dont want to spend like 300 on just the neck
if u get my drift
but i dont mind spending 500-700 on the whole guitar
but these pre-made fingerboards
do they come with the inlays?
-
Im most likey go for a bolt on or set
but probably a bolt on
Do u think those pre-made fretboards are worth getting?
Thanks again
-
yeah thanks a heap for that
i will most likely go for a ash, mahogony or rosewood body
but im still uncertain about the neck
i want it to be a very good guitar cosmetic and playability wise
and im a very precise guy lol
-
Thanks a heap man.....
i really appreciate it.
i hope to get started in 3 days
i am going to go buy a a slab or 2 of mahogony or ash at one of the timber places in my town
anything i should b weary of?
-
Um the neck i want looks like this:
with this body:
But i dont know what wood to use for the body either
because this will be my first build
-
well i want it to be exactly like a jackson neck, with the sharktooth inlay, and i dont really want to ruin it if im going 2 build it, so thats why i was thinking of buying a jackson neck
-
Hi ive been really reading into guitar making and tosing up between buying a pre-made explorer body from warmoth and making one myself
But i think it would be really fun and a good experience to make 1
i want to put a jackson styled neck on it with the sharktooth inlays but i dont want to screw the neck up
and i dont know what wood to use, and its all really expensive
and i would really appreciate all help
Thanks
