I would have to qualify my influences based on contribution, otherwise there are simply too many.

1. Les Paul - For all things *electric* he contributed to modern music and guitar and is unique playing style.

2. Edward Van Halen - For taking us (me) in an inspiring new direction in the rock music world.

3. Al Di Meola - For showing me articulation can play a huge factor and there's something more than rock that's cool.

4. Me - When the point of evolution came where I discovered I had my own *voice* and began to develop and evolve that voice. This part never ends and is what keeps me going.

I would have to say to you trust your gut on what you're doing, you seem to have a very creative thinking process and doing well with it!

extended warranty on a computer? That's madness! The thing will be obsolete before it breaks down.

I honestly can't argue this one. When it comes to computers I often tell people if they aren't comfortable with computers at a 'techie' level, extended isn't such a bad idea because they can often make a simple problem worse.

Yeah, I'm the same way. I never get extended warranties. The VAST majority of the time, if electronics survives the first 30 days, it'll usually outlast most warranties.

A good example is just yesterday I purchased a new 50" TV because my tube Sony is dying. I clearly recall being offered a 5 year warranty for ~$300.00 when I got it, but it didn't start dying until after 10 years and that's the shortest life I've had on a Sony. So the vendor would have made $300.00 pure profit for absolutely nothing. Extended is just as much a gamble as none at all IMO.

Vox Valvetronix 30watt, loud enough to gig and some really good sounds.

I've played those (don't have one) but even though I've recommended a Line 6, this is a good little amp. Can produce some really nice blues tones.

thats part of the problem, when you go into a store and you know more about the products than the employees do, thats a load of poo.

They aren't trained to know, they're trained to sell stuff. Or trick you into buying stuff..

Actually it's worse than that! They aren't trained AT ALL! Seriously, unless something has changed, they are provided no training what so ever!

this just sounds like what Pc world does (in the uk) awfull service, salespeople who dont know what they are talking about, rude staff and corrupt managers..

Yeah, that sounds about right. Staff is usually incompetent more so than rude. It's basically a glorified used car dealership and really nothing more.

And wwwdotcomdotnet, as for giving GC an ultimatum. It honestly will likely not matter. They really don't care.

As I believe already suggested, your best bet is to get rid of those cheap casters and replace them with real metal ones. In the long run, it would be your best effort instead of toying with getting junk replaced that will likely break again anyway.

Be careful how much effort you put into that thing. I picked up one of those and it fell apart in about 1 1/2 hours. Guess that's what happens to a $15 guitar.

There are A LOT of vendors doing this with low end 'tube' preamp's. I even had an experience with an ART unit where I took the tube out entirely and it still worked!

In all fairness to the salesperson, they're probably required to maintain a quota of extended warranty sales.

Naw, last I knew that wasn't the case. But as I said, it's 100% profit so it's very possible the only profit made on a deal could be the extended warranty.

What still blows my mind is 15ish years after I worked for 3 different GC's for about 5 years....they still haven't changed at all! Everything is exactly the same! Well other than they have computers now.

Look at Line 6 Spider Series. I have their little 30w combo and it's a great little amp.

That is good and all,but that does not help with warranty stuff.I never buy the extra protection...it's worthless.

1. KEYS: There is no key of D#, The key is Eb. As well as F#, it's Gb, And G#, it's Ab, and A#, it's Bb. This is standard music stuff! And there is such a thing as Cb, it's not often used, but it does exist.

2. POSITION MARKERS: The one's you've added help a lot! Adding them on the board would help more.

3. MELODIC MINOR: You use the reference of #, the technically should be b.

I'm in Frederick a lot, many of the kids soccer happens there. I was going to say I've flown over Detrick many times but actually I've AVOIDED flying over it many times. Taking off from runway 30 at FDK goes right directly at it and I have to turn out before someone shoots at me!

Anyways, I'm looking for a decently cheap pair of humbuckers (large, not single coil size) that have a great rock tone with a good distortion. I cant stand my current (stock) pickups, no tone at all.

Any suggestions? I'm looking for 100usd or less for trhe pair, perferably less.

Seymour Duncan Hotrodded Humbucker set. $129 for a JB bridge pickup and Jazz neck. These are the most ubiquitous pickups in rock and roll, covering everything from rock to metal.

Yeah, just good luck getting them from Musician's Friend. I broke down mid-December and ordered a couple Dimarzio's from them. I still haven't got them yet!
