  1. I'm 50, married, kids grown and gone. Sawyer in sawmill, 25 years. Played in band at 17 then didn't play again till 5 years ago. Jam every Sat. nite with guys my age playing AC/DC to Zep. Thought about building from scratch, got all the books, ideas and tools but settled on my first to be FRANKINSTIENED. Got parts from E-bay, Warmoth, Carvin, Allparts, and Fender. Got it together so far to the nut and ready to glue it in(Earvana), and string it up and set it up and see if "IT LIVES". My knees pop and snap but are fine, and I also suck playing...but who cares..... it's fun.
  2. I'm doing an Earvana nut I bought with my Warmoth Fender short scale neck for Strat they have. There is some finishing to do but mainly on getting the nut blank to sit flush with the top the fretboard and then you screw on the top piece that has the nut slots in it which then sits perfectly to the fretboard radius. I'm to the glue it in stage. They say super glue, but I believe in measure twice cut once, am looking on the net for different thoughts on nut gluing before I go the point of no return. This is on a Frankenstiened Strat copy made of parts from E-bay,Warmoth,Carvin,Allparts,Wilkinson,Fender,and Earvana.
  3. I bought an Earvana nut from Warmoth to put on my Warmoth neck. Preslotted to Fender or Gibson depending on the width your neck is. There is some sanding and filing to fit the nut slot but it ain't rocket science just follow the directions and patience. I'm about to glue mine in, they say super glue, but I thought I'd ck out other opinions.
