floyd rose tremelo help

I have a Rhoads model V and it has a floyd rose temelo in it, and I'm not a big fan of the floating bridge. I'm looking to filling the hole where the tremelo goes so I can put in a standard Gibson tailpeice. Has anyone done this before, or does any one have any suggestions? Any help would be very appreciated.
