I just decided to pitch it, it's not like i can't buy another one fairly cheap. not worth the hassel and cost of a pickup repair man. thanks for the advice though. JimRayden Posted December 6, 2004 Report Share Posted December 6, 2004 (edited) Send me the pickups, I could use the wire in there as I'm making my own custom pickups . Ok, to your problem. If you want to bring the pickup back to life, you could try building a pickup winder. If you use a drill, you will risk to break the wire as it's as thin as hair. Search the internet for ideas and build a winding mechanism. After you rewind the the pickup, it'll sound more vintage because it's now handwound (You might want to pot it afterwards though). Be aware, an average single coil is about 8000-9000 turns of wire. Anyway, good luck, and if you are thinking of throwing the thing away, send me an e-mail. I'd be happy to recieve some free wire and a free bobbin for my next Raydenmegasuperhyperpickup. Naah, I'm not that pro at pickups...
