captnmorgan
I'm about to change the neck and bridge pickup (single) on a strat copy with Epiphone LesPaul-100 pickups (humbuckers). The thing is the body of that guitar is fine but the stock pickups are crap. Does someone ever done this? Any advice will be nice. a bicycle made of anarchy
sure it can be done.. depending on how it is routed underneath the pickguard you may have to do some routing yourself (or have it done). i would guaruntee the neck pickup area will have to be routed, and likely the bridge (but sometimes these are routed larger just for that). plus, you'll have to alter the pickguard. Mickguard
You sure you're looking for humbuckers? In a strat? There are plenty of pickups, including humbuckers, available that fit the single-coil form factor...that shouldn't be any problem. It's no big deal adapting the guitar either --you have to be fearless, take a deep breath and attack it with a chisel...go slowly...but the pickguard (you can cut the existing guard or buy something ready made) will cover the gouges you make. PerryL
If you already have the pickups, go with it but If you wanna get some hot pickups in that bad boy drop some Dual Coil Blades in it and it'll scream. Here's what I got for the neck of my Jag Type and they're good pickups. MF Seymour Scorchers
captnmorgan
Thank you all for your answers. I'm gonna try to fit these humbuckers. For those who worry about the "strat" sound, well worry no more. The guitar i'm working on sounds awful so those epiphone les paul pickups will greatly improve the sound. Anyways, thanks to all you guys!
