bigdguitars
I am struggling with making a control cavity cover out of wood. What I am doing is making a custom cover out of flamed maple and when I do it by hand I can get it close but not pefect. Is there a certain way or technique that this can be done so I am 100% perfect. Anytime I hand sand I am a little off. looking for some expert tips here. If we get some good responses, maybe we can pin this one. I can make the template, then I have a hard time getting the control cover to match up. Executioner606
I was always told take a piece of poster board. Push it down onto the recesses so it makes an outline of the cavity then cut along the lines and use that as your template.
