shinjiakari22
Ok so I want to convert an Ibanez RX into a JEM style guitar. Theres a few issues though. -The neck join on the RX is square...the JEM is rounded. Can this be modified? -There is no recess on the neck joint of an RX like this http://www.projectguitar.com/tut/heal.htm Can that still be done? bowser
You should be able to follow that tutorial and make a recess on the back of the neck joint if you want to, just do it across the whole thing instead of one side like on the RG body in the pictures. And, the All Access Neck Joint Jems (from the early nineties up to now) don't have that recess, and it would be much more difficult to make a square joint into an all access joint. The tutorial is for making it into the older style neck joints.
shinjiakari22
The reason i ask is I want to fit a wizard (or rather a nice nect with a black fret board) neck on it...that has a rounded neck joint. So what your saying is all the old JEM's are square neck joints? Edited February 1, 2005 by shinjiakari22
