hey, my friend has two Kay acoustic guitars that he inherrited and he wanted to know if they are any good, they sound really good and such but can someone tell us about them?

thanks, would you by any chance know how to determine the value/age by using the model number? which is K588

Sorry, they stamped out quite a few in the early days and I don't know a lot about them myself. A friend has a Harmony Monterey that was constructed along the same lines as the Kay brand thats about as close as I've been to one. but here is another resource for ya, . Its always fun to see where the trail leads.

i've got a nice collection of silvertone acoustics which are very much like the kays in look and value..most from the 60's. they don't have a great deal of collector's value so they aren't worth a lot. i don't think i've given more that $75 for any of them but they're cool so just play them and enjoy them.
