jaguarcat311 Posted August 17, 2005 Report Share Posted August 17, 2005 has anyone tried this? i have an old beater guitar layin around that i wouldnt mind saving. i got it for 50$ so i dont really care what happens to it, it is a jay turser les paul bolt on. if i can do the bolt on to set neck conversion, i plan on putting a real top on it.....real wood. im not a big fan of the 1/16th inch plywood and paint top on it now. TeiscosRock Posted August 18, 2005 Report Share Posted August 18, 2005 This has been covered alot, try searching. In theory it's not difficult at all, with some patience. You'd have the loss of thickness in the heel to worry about because you need to remove the finish from the heel of the neck. It's alot easier to do it the way I am, because I'll be building the body from scratch, plus I'll be able to do an U rout on the neck heal for a bit more survace coverage and (in theory) sstability.
