unclej
first of all merry christmas to all.. now the question..a buddy of mine scored an old gretch class a amp. he's a buyer/seller of guitars, amps, etc. and i'm afraid he's one of those guys that will part out something rather than restoring it. this little amp has a '66 hammond 10" speaker in it which he wants and he's also interested in the power tranny. thinks it's worth more than he paid for the amp..anyway he's going to give me whats left after i id the tranny and i can't. it has no markings whatsoever showing and looks relatively new to me. it's a light grey color and just doesn't look like it could be original. so the question is did the original gretch amp, from around the mid sixties as far as i can tell, have any identifying marks on the power tranny that could tell me whether this one is original or a replacement? i'd rather not have to replace it, of course. i checked every gretch site i could find and found nothing. thanks
