I want to know if the switch of the guitars yamaha he is equal to that one of the guitars ibanez.

Is it possible to make these connections on one guitar yamaha?

The correspondences of the poles of the switch are equal?

This is the wiring diagram I'd like to do:

http://www.ibanez.com/wiring/diagrams/2005/RGA321.pdf

but i have 2 PU seymour duncan and a yamaha rgx421D...

Can you explain me the function of the switch?

Thank you very much. :D

PS: I'm sorry for my bad english

From the pickup selection diagrams, the switch is a two-pole 5 way. Sort of a standard Strat.

I don't know the difference between Yamaha and Ibanez switches - if any. But the one in the diagram has it's two common lugs as the middle two. If the Yamaha has its two common pole connections as the center two lugs, then the wiring of the other lugs would be similar also.

The color codes for 4 conductor humbuckers is different between Dimarzio and Duncan. Here is a color chart that will help with the translation:

To have switching like the diagram you've shown I *THINK* you need an Ibanez switch. I don't think you can do it with a standard strat switch ( which is what your yamaha guitar will have).

you're absolutely right. that wiring diagram is the Ibanez 'special' 5-way wiring for two humbuckers. that wiring scheme requires a special 5-way switch, either the Cortek switch Ibanez uses or a 24-pole superswitch. the stock yamaha switch will not do that scheme.

Thank you very much...

actually I have connected the 2 humb in this way:

1: neck pu

2: neck pu split

3: none

4: bridge pu split

5: bridge pu

My guitar has a single coil in the middle but I erase it...

Can you tell me a wire for 3 position?

I'd like to obtain both PU split...

I have a 59 in the neck and a Invader in the bridge...

Thanks

a standard Strat 5-way switch will not do that. your yahama switch will not do that, and normal ibanez switches won't do it either.

you need a custom switch. the E model Megaswitch will do exactly what you want. see http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics,_p...gaswitches.html .
