asxangelsxbleed
so pretty much i was given a college assignment to make an instrument and then do some sample recordings. of course i decided to make a stringed chordophone instrument in the same fashion as a guitar, so with frets and what not. to get into my lecturers good books i was going to position the frets accuratly but i knew this meant i needed to find an equation, so I read 'steves' Making a Guitar Neck tut (which is an excelent tut btw) but he did not include the equation or how to apply it. So if any of you know a site or the equation and would want to share that information with me id be very very grateful!

orgmorg
The fret calc is the way to go for practical purposes, but if you want the math for academic reasons, here is the basics of it: http://physics.mtsu.edu/~wmr/scales.htm
