Gtr Posted July 19, 2006 Report Share Posted July 19, 2006 Hi, I'm putting the final touches on a Carvin Bolt guitar that I have customized in various ways and have noticed that the stain and tung oil finish I put on it is a little light in some spots. It's not very inconsistent, just enough to bother me. It's only on the top of the instrument though, so would it be possible to redo just the top, or the light areas (it's a very dark brown stain) without having problems blending the edges? I should maybe just leave it. I'm about to try a test on the areas that will be covered by the pickguard, but thought I should see if I get a response here from people with more experience than me.
