I've been doing a lot of research on embedded OSes (mostly for work) and was wondering if anyone has worked with one and how complex it would be to integrate one into an effects pedal. I mean, it seems like the only things necessary would be a custom kernel, the correct ALSA drivers, a few plugins, and ways to interface with any I/O devices. I think it'd be great to have a starting point with tons of effects on it that you could copy for individual stompboxes. Not really a multi-effects pedal, but a stompbox where you could switch it to delay if you didn't need distortion anymore.
