hoofman
I'm working on my first project and have just installed two new humbuckers, a seymour duncan and a bill lawrence. All wired up and plugged in the bill lawrence sounds like a dream but the seymour isn't. It gives off a low output a bit crackly and fuzzy with no warmth or depth at all. Following wiring diagras and stuff was no problem for me and it's wired up correctly and soldered well enough which makes me think that theres a problem with either the pots or the pickup itself (I reckon the pots as the pickup is brand new). I've brought a multimeter but I don't know how to check where the fault is and can find no advice online. Anyone here able to help?
Desopolis
maybe its out of phase with the other pickup. make sure the red and white are together, then flip the ground and hot leads.. see what happens.. also make sure the ground from the pups and the pot is good..
