fryovanni
Hellow I am a luthier in mo and I am building a custom guitar does anyone know where I can find some old honduran mahogany like gibson used in the 50's 60's. Funny this question was just asked in the Buy/Sell/Trade section not too long ago.click You should probably call around to suppliers and see if they have old stock. You won't havemuch luck finding old growth wood in new stock (at least not legally harvested). I know of one place that sells Cuban Mahogany ($30+ bd.ft). Legally and sustainably harvested from their family property. Honestly though a well dried straight grain cut of genuine Mahogany should work great (honestly I doubt the factory was as picky as you will probably be when selecting).
