MasterMinds
The fernandes sustainer comes with a jack that has a VERY short thread section, making it hard for my routing plan. Can anyone here tell me that this jack is not unique, and any other jack is designed to handle the cables the same way? I can't tell anything unique, but want to check with the gurus here. Thanks a million guys!
spazzyone
it should just be a "stereo" jack to control the power on/off as well a the guitar signal
MasterMinds
meaning a regular stereo jack is just fine? right? what do you mean by power on/off?
psw
post a pic and/or diagram...and see if you can keep the questions to one thread, makes it easier to answer them... The jack should be standard, but...a stereo or switched jack is often used to turn off the power so the battery doesn't go flat when the guitar is unplugged. Again...hard to say what you have or give advice. Either way...you can get replacement jacks, maybe even the guitar's old jack would do...but we need to see what we are dealing with! pete

psw
Well...I won't either till I see a bit more... For instance...the circuit may be buffering the whole guitar's signal even when the sustainer is off (like an EMG)...this would not take too much power (nothing like that required by the sustainer itself) but enough to flatten the battery...that could be a reason for such a switch. But maybe it doesn't need it...it would require more info...or maybe even testing to see if it is drawing power when switched "off"...follow me? pete
spazzyone
after some more thinking and looking at the circut it does show a stereo jack and while it has an on/off switch it would be smarter to use the stereo jack that way you know its of when you unplug your cord

And this one http://store.guitarfetish.com/chguenjapefo.html isn't a stereo jack is it?
