TFeemster Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 I am building my first guitar (a Concert style acoustic) and was wondering if I went with a stock dreadnought neck or should I cut and shape one. What sizes work best and also about fret distance, which is best to use. I don't want to have a huge neck on a smaller bodied guitar. Sugestions anyone? Tyson Quote
fryovanni Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 I am assuming steel string 00-ish. I personally prefer 14 fret on steel strings(again I am assuming you mean 14 fret by dred size). As far as scale length I have my personal preferences(may or may not be good for you). Use the scale you prefer and adjust bracing and bridge acordingly. I play with my body size and shape, bracing and such based on the scale I prefer. Peace,Rich Quote
